My Dear Brothers in Christ,
This will be my last letter as Grand knight; our council will have new Grand knight on
July 1st. It’s been a honor and a pleasure to serve as your Grand Knight this past
fraternal year. We had many accomplishments this year, and we are on track to be
awarded Star Council. This award is due to the diligence and effort of all our
members through this fraternal year. I expect that the new officers who take office
on July 1st will be given the assistance and support from our members as they
gave to the current group of officers. We will be having an award Banquet on July
25th at Pompeii Italian Grill at 7 PM. I hope that everyone will make an effort to
attend. Please RSVP with our New Grand Knight Raul Soria.
As our fraternal year winds down we have several events on tap, the Father’s day
Appreciation Breakfast will be Sunday June 21st, Deputy Grand Knight Raul is
asking for assistance with this event that is popular with the parish. Another event
is the Council’s officer Installation that will be held on Saturday June 27th at 7 PM.
This year, we will not have the Heartland home Father’s day Barbecue on Saturday
June 20th instead we will help serve the food on July 2nd for Heartlands Family day
supper. We are planning a Family Fun day for our families on July 18th, See Bro
Daniel Losoya for more information. We also have the Knight’s at the Mission’s
Baseball Game on July 26th where we sponsor a fun filled evening for the Altar
Servers. We also encourage our members and their families to attend as well.
Our thanks go out to the Softball team who represented our Council at the Knights
state tournament. It was a great success since no team member was injured and
every one had a wonderful time. Special thanks to our Chief Cook and Coach Oscar
Elizondo and his family for the delicious hamburgers and hot dogs. Tino Villarreal
deserves our gratitude for transporting the cold drinks and refreshments. Thanks
go to Deputy Grand Knight Raul Soria for providing the Hamburgers and Hot dogs.
Special thanks go all our members who volunteered for the Coliseum graduations.
Some of you worked many hours but we were able to fulfill our commitment to the
Coliseum.
We have a new crop of Officers this upcoming fraternal year. Thanks to the new
officers for taking a leadership role in the council. I trust that the new council’s
officers will be as successful as our current officers. We still have some
directorship positions open, so contact the new Grand Knight, Raul Soria if you are
interested serving in those positions. Remember my brothers not to forget our
spiritual side. Pray the rosary, attend Mass with your family, and spend some time
in adoration at our Blessed Sacrament Chapel drawing closer to our Lord, that He
continues to bless us, our families, our parish and our service personnel abroad.
Your brother in Christ
Caesar Bustos
Grand Knight
