Knights of Columbus #7965
"In Service to one, in service to all!"
Knightly News Web Edition
My Dear Brothers in Christ,

The Lenten season is upon us, and I call on each of us to reflect on how we can perform works of charity, prayer and
almsgiving. It is through such works, that we will renew ourselves in time for the Easter season.

At this time we are also half way through our fraternal year and still have many projects in the works. I thank all of you
for your commitment to our events and encourage you to continue helping our council.

Our Superbowl BBQ event ended well but with much effort. I congratulate Brother Daniel Losoya and everyone who
helped with the project. Revenue from the project decreased from last year – no doubt a reflection of the difficult
times we are all currently experiencing and other competing demands (such as Haiti Relief) for charity I know that
many Brothers and parishioners have less time and money, but Still, every little bit of support helps - whether it's time
or money. I urge all my Brothers to step back and see what you can contribute in the events to  come. Please note the
calendar of events listed on the next page.

Brothers, you can see we don't lack activities. We will be conducting Fish Fries on three Fridays in Lent, and with
Easter comes the annual Easter Egg Hunt. The success of all these events falls on all of us and how we give up our
time and contributions. I ask all the new Knights to step up and pick a function. Each of us can be a key factor in the
success of our efforts. No matter how small, every contribution of time or dollars helps us to achieve our objectives
to help our community, whether on the parish or state level.

Please make it a point if you have not been to a meeting lately come to this one. We have many
items to cover and I need everyone's input.

Your Brother in Christ,

Raul Soria

January 2010
Brother Tim Luna’s name was drawn for the January ’10 Council
business meeting attendance lottery. Brother Time was at
the meeting and was awarded with the $20. Therefore, the lottery for the
month of February 2010 is reset to $5. Remember, you MUST
attend the Council business meeting to win. The next meeting will be on
February 24, 2010, at 7:30 pm, in the Dolan Activity Center. Let
us fill the Council Chambers with some new faces. Your participation in
council activities is desired and greatly valued. See you there..
Monthly Adoration

Brother Knights, Brother unity through prayer is a bond that will last
forever. We have this opportunity a couple of times this month at the
Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Adoration is Mon-Fri 9A-9P, but our council
is committed to cover 6P-9P Mon-Fri. Plan on a few minutes each week
and meditate one-on-one with Jesus Christ at our St Helena Chapel.

Subject: Fish Fry - February 26

Brothers,

Fish Fry is here and it will take a few good men to get it done... I would like to be ready to serve by 5:PMish (the tickets actually say 6). We are
definitely going to make this more friendly then last year. It looks like we are going to be battling bad weather again so I am limiting frying to
only fish and shrimp the rest will be done inside on the stove.
The following is what I need:
2 at door selling tickets and collecting money
__________________________      ________________________________

3 in the Kitchen prepping plates
_________________________   _________________________ ______________________

2 at the outside window passing plates and bagging
____________________________      ________________________________

2 Fryers
